Love the ideas but still giggling over Yogurt being a less messy breakfast, my 3 under 4 will show just how messy of a choice it can be 😅

🤣 good point. Messy table to clean (and faces and hands) but at least no pans to scrub 🤷🏽‍♀️

Great ideas here - many that we use at our house. One thing I like to add to my oatmeal is a handful of walnuts. It adds protein and a nice crunch.

Cottage cheese is so high in protein but I’m struggling to get it down. (I can’t stand it straight or with fruit.) Good idea to try some mixed in my eggs!

And great ideas here. I especially like your handy list for mix and match protein ideas.

I like to make scrambled eggs and mix in a half cup of cottage cheese- quick and filling!

I'm a father of 8, but also an open-heart surgery survivor. Which means I know starchy breakfasts are cheapest, but protein is better for you. I make my own breakfast every morning, a totally different one than my kids. Pork sausage is tasty but very fatty: instead I use ground turkey, an egg, cheese, and tortilla.

That sounds like a great breakfast for your kids too! We all eat the same meals in my home—makes life easier and kids learn to eat what they’re served. Also, I recommend the book The Big Fat Surprise if you hold to the idea that fatty meats are unhealthy 😊

Thank you for this! I struggle having more ideas for a protein packed breakfast other than eggs and turkey sausage, especially when I can't eat fruit or sweet things in the morning. These are great ideas!
